If this meet goes well, which we are really hoping it does, the plan is to do a full slate of these meets next year, every month, in addition to Night Moves. Admission will remain $2 all year, with all proceeds generated to be put toward the cars for kids show and donations to CHKD. As with Night moves, we ask that everyone act like mature adults, and refrain from revving, racing, burning out, speeding, littering, loud music/bass, and just general idiocy. Wal Mart has also requested that everyone please avoid parking in their non-parking garage lots as they are for Walmart customers, and not for this meet. If you arrive and the garage is full, you will be directed to park across the street behind the old HQ shopping center free of charge. We look forward to seeing everyone out! Oh and for those wondering about the name, we are calling them Garage Battle as a tribute/shout out to old meets from the early 2000’s that took place in the same area and also the group that hosted them.

Suffolk Peanut Fest Demolition Derby: Fri, Oct 7
Suffolk Executive Airport
1550 Airport Rd, Suffolk
Bang! Crash! Boom! Friday Evening Demolition Derby at Suffolk Peanut Fest. The idea for demolition derbies was conceived in the mind of a 28-year old stock car driver named Larry Mendelsohn. He staged the first demo derby at Islip (Long Island) Speedway in 1958. He had noticed how spectators were attracted by the crashes and smashes of stock car racing. Many of the fans were stuck to the edge of their seats not as anxious to witness skilled racing but to see the trauma and violence of the WRECKS! Why not create an automobile sport that would be ALL crashes? Hence, the now popular demolition derby was born. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/suffolk-peanut-fest-tickets-26523909728
