Originally started in Irvine, CA at a strip mall on the PCH, the Cars & Coffee idea has steadily spread to various areas across the country. Here in Tidewater Virginia, we have the great Mid-Atlantic coastal region, we have plenty of sports cars in the area, and we have plenty of coffee shops so it seemed a logical fit. This is an informal hangout for mature car enthusiasts who enjoy an early morning drive and a cup of coffee.

Sat Nt - The Classic Cruiser’s cruise-in takes place every Saturday night from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM, beginning April 19 thru October 18. Our location is Heritage Square Shopping Center, 4318 George Washington Hwy, Grafton, VA. It is open to all years, all makes, and all models. If it’s cool, bring it. It is only a $2.00 donation to show your vehicle. There is no admission fee for spectators. All cruise-in donations are donated to charity. Thu Nt - Western Branch Car Group 2014 Dairy Queen Cruise-In, every Thursday evening starting in April and ending on Halloween Night with our Trunk-R-Treat Cruise In & Show. Various events with mini-car-shows, DJ events, and other outings and group events during the season. Cruise In’s start @ 5 p.m. to “whenever”! No costs except for your own diner and ice cream. Some events such as the mini-car-shows or special cruise-in’s may have registration costs to participate. (Rain date is the following Saturday) Show times are from 9-3, with registration ending at 12:00. Early registration is $15 and $20 the day of the show. Trophies are awarded for the top five in GM, Ford, Mopar, Imports, and trucks. Also awarded are the top 25 awards, as well as other special awards. Winners are selected by participant voting. Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) - Old Dominion Region. The Old Dominion Region (Number 63) is part of the Southeast Division (SEDiv), which consists of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Tidewater Sports Car Club (TSCC) - Founded in Norfolk Virginia in 1953, Tidewater Sports Car Club has a strong foundation within the local Hampton Roads autocross community and surrounding areas (140+ club members in 2009). 
Our autocross season runs from March through November with events taking place on the 2nd or 3rd Sunday of the month. We usually host a novice autocross school early in the season on the Saturday before our Sunday event. This is a great opportunity for new participants to get involved with autocross.
Our club is not solely structured around autocross. TSCC is, as the name implies, a car club, supporting the enthusiast. Car shows, social gatherings, and community involvement are just a few of the extracurricular activities in which TSCC participates. 
We host a charity event at least once a year where all the proceeds from the event are donated to a designated charity. Since 2005, we have donated over $20,000.00 to various local and national charities.www.tidewatersportscarclub.com

National Auto Sport Association (NASA) Mid-Atlantic.  NASA Mid-Atlantic increases track time for HPDE (High Performance Driver’s Ed) Drivers!! In response to overwhelming feedback from our participants NASA Mid Atlantic offers even more of its award winning HPDE program to all HPDE Drivers. Starting March 22-23 at VIR NASA will increase the number of on track sessions each HPDE group receives from 3 to 4. More time. More opportunity to have more fun on track!!!!

Jul 19 / Summerfest 2014 Track Day / NCCAR (near Emporia, VA) We will host a High Speed Driving Event on North Carolina’s Center for Automotive Research’s road course. This event is open to all makes and models and you do not have to be a MBCA club member to participate. There will be a full day of track time and classroom instruction with 4-5 sessions in a non-timed HPDE set up. Car sharing is allowed with separate registration for each driver. This event will fill very quickly, so you will need to place your entry soon. The price for this full day at the race track is $99 for MBCA members and $149 for non-members. This road course is ideally situated in Garysburg, NC and features a 40 feet wide bi-directional freshly paved road course with a ½ mile straightaway, 11 constant radius turns and large grassy run-off areas. There is no competition for times or trophies but a lot of fun to be had. Virtually any car is fully capable of handling this type of event. You must have a valid driver’s license to attend. You will be able to download a technical inspection form that your personal mechanic will perform before you leave home. All you need to bring is this and a Snell 2005 or later helmet. We will have an at track safety inspection at the hotel on Friday night and at the track on Saturday morning. Virginia International Raceway (VIR) - Recently chosen as one of Car & Driver’s Top 6 tracks in the nation, Virginia International Raceway is a multi-purpose road racing facility, located on the Dan River between Danville and South Boston, Virginia. VIR hosts a wide range of professional and amateur auto and motorcycle racing and track events, and is well established as “America’s Motorsport Resort.”

Jul 18-20 - Grassroots Motorsports Ultimate Track Car Challenge. There can only be one.one ultimate track car and one ultimate driver. Grab a front seat as drivers take the track with hopes of proving their car is the fastest there is!
Aug 09 - ChumpCar World Series “VIR 24-Hour Classic.” It will be a hot summer night at VIR when Chump Car returns with your favorite wacky “junkers n’ clunkers” 24-hour endurance race. This series is for gear-heads and people who love fast driving. It’s not about gimmicks or theatrics. Rather, it’s for grassroots race teams and for Chumps like you that have always wanted to go road racing without all the hassle. It’s about “Joe Average” and almost-race-ready cars. Anyone can enter, but here’s the catch - cars must be valued at less than $500. Aug 16 - Biscuitville 125 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. The NASCAR K&N Pro Series is NASCAR’s top developmental series before making the jump to the top three series. Come watch the next generation of NASCAR stars as they hone their racing skills on VIR’s legendary North Course, which is 2.25 miles long with 22 turns and 100 feet of elevation changes. Aug 22-24 - Oak Tree Grand Prix / TUDOR United SportsCar Championship. VIR is honored to be one of 12 tracks, and the only one in the greater Mid-Atlantic, selected to host the new series and the only one in the greater Mid-Atlantic. The TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, the result of last year’s merger between GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series and the American Le Mans Series, kicks off Aug. 22 with testing, qualifying, car corrals, driver autograph sessions, team chats, tech talks and more. The event will include combined GT LeMans/GT Daytona race and a separate Prototype Challenge race. Maserati Trofeo World Series will make its only U.S. stop during the three-day weekend as a supporting series. The Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and Lamborghini Super Trofeo, supporting series from last year’s ALMS race, will also race. Make a weekend out of it with camping, car corrals, our Dash and Dine event and more. The action begins at 8:30 a.m. each day.
Sep 20-21 - CCS Fall CycleFest of Speed Motorcycle Roadracing. VIRginia International Raceway’s Championship Cup Series Fall CycleFest brings some of motorcycle road racing’s best teams and riders onto the track. Look for extremely close, side-by-side, knee dragging action as the contenders separate themselves from the pretenders for the coveted season crown! There will be more than 100 riders throughout the weekend and several different classes. Racing kicks off at 8:30 a.m. each day.
Sep 26-28 - Heacock Classic Gold Cup Historic Races & Car Show. The SportsCar Vintage Racing Association returns to VIR, bringing with it cars and a passion for racing that have stood the test of time. Memories will return with every turn of the tire as VIR continues the tradition of its annual Gold Cup Historic Races & Car Show. Cars running in the historic classes must be at least 25 years old. Past favorites include a group of 25 Austin Healeys and a Maserati 450S just like the one Caroll Shelby drove when he won the first race at VIR. Come out to this fun race and go back in time!
Richmond International Raceway (RIR) - Richmond International Raceway, known as America’s Premier Short Track, offers great night racing action and a commitment to the fan experience. One of the most popular facilities among drivers and fans in all of motorsports, Richmond International Raceway annually hosts two NASCAR Doubleheader weekends, featuring the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series, under the lights on a ¾-mile D-Shaped oval. The unique layout traditionally produces exciting side-by-side racing, yet drivers reach high enough speeds for a superspeedway feel. Combined with first-class amenities and a focus on the fans, guests at Richmond International Raceway can expect to experience what “Racing Perfection” truly is.

Each month, RIR opens its gates for fans to drive FIVE laps around the ¾-mile oval in exchange for a $20 donation to Richmond International Raceway Cares - the track’s Donor Advised Fund of the NASCAR Foundation that assists nonprofits throughout the Greater Richmond Metropolitan Area.
