Tidewater Sports Car Club (TSCC)
Founded in Norfolk Virginia in 1953, TSCC has a strong foundation within the local Hampton Roads autocross community and surrounding areas. Our autocross season runs from March through November with championship series events typically taking place on the 3rd Sunday of the month. We usually host a novice autocross school early in the season on the Saturday before our Sunday event. This is a great opportunity for new participants to get involved with autocross. We also host higher speed time trials at regional tracks such as North Carolina Center for Automotive Research.

OFFICIAL COVID-19 UPDATE
As many of you have already read in the newspaper and on Facebook, there will be No racing in 2020. After reading Executive Order 65, Bill Sawyer has decidied he will not operate and run the track without fans, and with the current restrictions, we do not anticipate the chance to race any time soon. For that reason we will not open for the 2020 season and will step back and get ready for an even bigger and better 2021 racing season. Stay safe and healthy.

In light of the Governor’s eased restrictions for race tracks effective 29 May, Southside Speedway would like to convey to our drivers that we will continue to monitor the situation into June. Under the current guidelines we cannot operate with fans in attendance: “No spectators or members of the public are permitted to attend the event. This includes owners, family (unless the guardian of a minor child), as well as outside vendors. Only individuals essential to the operation of the event are permitted to attend.”
Due to this regulation, we are making the decision to remain closed, for now. Thank you for your continued patience in these difficult times.

COVID 19 Update - After much review of the guidelines to reopen Motorsports Facilities from the Commonwealth of Virginia (https://www.governor.virginia.gov/…/Virginia-Forward-Phase-…) many restless nights and much prayer, I have decided that for the immediate future, Richmond Dragway will not reopen during this restrictive phase of reopening. Clearly, the restrictions in place are designed to facilitate major events (with TV and outside revenues) to continue to operate (ie NASCAR) and that is more than acceptable. There were a number of deciding factors in this decision including health & safety, financial considerations and general principle.
